• Is the directory "Human Edited"?

  Directories that require some sort of human review before adding your website can be the best directories. They remain on topic, and generally do not create "Bad Neighborhoods" that you would prefer not to be associated with.

• Are the links "Direct Links"?

  Many directories use redirects, javascript, and other methods to link to your website. While this may be fine for sending direct traffic, it also eliminates the potential search engine benifit that a direct link will have.

• Is the directory indexed?

  Directories are dropped from search engine indexes all the time. If they are not in the indexes, making them easy to find by web surfers, then how can they send traffic to you? We check to see how many pages of each directory are in each major search engine.

• Does the directory have any traffic?

  While we agree that Alexa rankings should not be used as a sole determining factor for a website's popularity, a website with a 0 Alexa ranking or one in the millions, may not be seeing very much real traffic and may not be a great place to invest a lot of money or time promoting your website.
